Cleared by hand
Every run of guttering is cleared by hand, not blown out with a leaf blower that simply relocates the problem onto your paving and into the next downpipe.
Gutters and downpipes cleared by hand and flushed, before the first Highveld storm finds the weak point. From R850,00 for a single storey, two bedroom home.
Nobody ever notices a blocked gutter on a dry day. It waits.
When the first proper storm arrives, water that should be running to a downpipe backs up over the lip instead. It runs down the wall, soaks the fascia boards, gets in behind the barge boards and eventually finds the ceiling. By the time there is a stain on the plaster the water has been there for a while.
The repairs that follow are not small. Rotted fascia, damaged plaster, lifted paint and mould in a ceiling void all cost multiples of what it costs to have the gutters cleared before the season starts.
There is a second, quieter problem. A gutter full of wet leaf litter is heavy. Over a season or two that weight pulls brackets out of the fascia, and the gutter starts to sag and hold water permanently.
Every run of guttering is cleared by hand, not blown out with a leaf blower that simply relocates the problem onto your paving and into the next downpipe.
We flush the gutters and confirm that each downpipe actually drains. A clear gutter feeding a blocked downpipe is not a job finished.
All the sludge and leaf litter leaves with us. We do not bag it and leave it at your gate, and we rinse down any paving that got dirty in the process.
Before and after photographs of each section, so you can see the state the gutters were in and the state they were left in.
Loose brackets, split seams, sagging runs, rust and missing gutter guards get photographed and reported. We will quote separately for repairs if you want them done.
Most single storey homes are done inside a morning. Larger properties and double storeys take longer, and we will tell you upfront what to expect.
R850,00 (eight hundred and fifty rand) covers a single storey, two bedroom home with standard access. Beyond that, price follows the length of the gutter run and how hard it is to reach, so we quote each property individually.
A photograph of the front and the side of the house helps more than any description, and it means the price we quote is the price you pay.
Once a year for most homes, timed just before the summer rains. Twice a year where there are large trees over or near the roof, because autumn leaf fall will block a gutter that was clear in September.
We do straightforward repairs: rebracketing sagging runs, resealing joints and replacing short damaged sections. Full gutter replacement on a large property is usually better done by a specialist, and we will say so rather than take on work we are not the right people for.
Yes, and on properties under heavy trees they are worth it. They reduce how often the gutters need clearing but they do not eliminate it, because fine debris still gets through and sits on top of the mesh. Anyone who tells you a guard means you never clean gutters again is selling you something.
Not necessarily, as long as we have access to the property and to an outside tap. We photograph the work throughout and send you the images, and payment can be arranged after you have seen them.
Send us your suburb, whether the house is single or double storey, and a photo of the front. We will quote you in writing.
